Our new Woodland Pop Up toy allows baby to explore the four different themes and for Mum to tell the stories of the relationships between a Bee and a flower, a Hedgehog and the Mushroom, an acorn and an Oak tree leaf and a Caterpillar which grows into a Butterfly! To open each Pop Up the child uses four different ways using the differently shaped buttons. Push, Pull, Turn and Squeeze. Helps with colour recognition and shape matching and has lots of play value.
Give your child the toy when all the characters are pushed down in their bases. Let your infant explore the toy and see if he or she can discover what happens. If necessary, give your little one some guidance and show how to move the shapes to make the characters pop up. Show your infant how to push them down again. Introduce and use the correct vocabulary such as "turn the flower", "push down on the Orange button". Demonstrate your actions to go with your words but do not be concerned if your toddler doesn't understand just yet. Repetition and reinforcement over time will help increase their skills. Emphasise colour recognition by talking about the different colours and the relationships between the Acorn and the Oak tree leaf for example. "What colour is the Caterpillar in the Orange egg?". Challenge your toddler to pop the characters up in the order of your choosing. For instance "can you pop the baby Hedgehog up?". Use lots of praise and encouraging language.
